Wasser Holiday Mini I Southwest Florida Family Photographer I Fort Myers, FL
OCTOBER 2012
Captured the gorgeous Wasser family for a few quick holiday snapshots in Downtown Fort Myers this morning. Danielle has her own photography business- http://ellewasserphotography.blogspot.com/ and wanted to actually be in front of the camera for a change. I can totally relate as a photographer you spend some much time capturing other people's lives than your own!

OCTOBER 2012
What a fun session this was in Downtown Fort Myers. Thank you, Nadia, for letting me capture your family. I don't think I've ever smiled so much while taking photos. I also have to give you kudos for outfit coordination. Fabulous bright colors make for great photos, wouldn't you agree?
Hello Fiona I Southwest Florida Baby Photographer I Fort Myers, FL
October 2012
Congratulations to Rich & Kristy Kilfoyle on the arrival of Baby Fiona, born Friday, October 5th. The name was a mystery until her arrival and we were all waiting on pins and needles to see what she would be called. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the name!!! She is adorable and Rich and Kristy already seem llike pros at this parenting thing. I think I even heard rumors she was sleeping through the night- lucky!!!
I was honored to have the opportunity to take a few photos 9 days after her birth. Kristy and I discussed ideas and I came like I always do to most shoots, over prepared with a lot of props. I could see Rich's eyes grow wide when he helped me bring all my goodies inside. Kristy wanted more of a lifestyle session so we took some intimate photos in their bedroom. We also incorporated books- Kristy's occupation, yarn- Kristy's recent hobby, and a cute crown that my mom made. The session ended with some fun family portraits outside in front of their house.

Frederic Family I Southwest Florida Family Photographer I Sanibel, FL
Love the setting on these photos for the Frederic Family session. We met at Casa Ybel on Sanibel Island. Katie suggested the location- perfect scenery with lush foliage and a gorgeous beach. I had no doubt that Katie would have the family color coordinated. I've always admired her taste in fashion.
Katie and I have stayed in touch since high school and have even managed a few girls nights out (WITH WINE) away from our hubbys and babies. It was great to capture their family in action and keep up with Landon! Check out a few of my favorites below...

What Camera Should I Buy? 2012 Edition

The Case for Printing Your Digital Photos
1. Prints never crash. Unlike your hard drive, those prints won’t be suddenly erased without warning. And while a hard drive crash is inevitable, it usually takes an act of nature to permanently destroy a person’s photo prints.
2. Prints are never obsolete. Every last device that’s storing your digital photo files today will be laughably obsolete in fifty years. The image files of today – the JPEGs and TIFs, etc. – will likely be unreadable by the devices of the future. Not a print. As long as your eyes work, you’ll be able to relive that photographic memory – even in your flying car (suffice it to say, if you’re operating a flying car, your eyes better work).
3. Prints are long lasting. In addition to being forever readable, prints can actually last for generations. Some home printer, ink and paper combinations can create a print that, when properly stored, can last 200 years. If you want to pass on photos to your great grandkid’s great grandkid, only a print will do.
4. People like them. Many people like to hold and handle a photo print, or would prefer to see them physically, in an album, instead of on a lifeless computer monitor.

Baby Fletcher I Southwest Florida Newborn Photographer I Fort Myers, FL
August 2012
After much anticipation, Josh, Olivia, and Spencer welcomed Fletcher Keaton on August 20th at 1:02 P.M. A few shorts days later they welcomed me into their home to capture some fun newborn portraits... LOVE all of these, especially the books and apples below which we used for the birth annoucement.
What To Wear In Family Photos
1. Be YOU in your family photo.
Don’t go out and buy outfits that you would never otherwise wear. Match your outfits with the style and personality of your family.
Here is a holiday photo of myself and Lillian from 2011. I LOVE polka dots so I decided to include them as a pattern for our shoot. I also love shoes...
2. Ditch the matchy-matchy.
Instead, coordinate outfits based loosely on a color scheme or theme. Not sure where to begin selecting a color palette? Find a piece you love and want someone to wear. Then coordinate around that. Choose three to four complementary colors and then wear different combinations of those colors, with each person wearing at least two of the colors to tie them in with the rest of the group.
3. The families of color:
- Group One: Jewel tones (ruby red, sapphire blue, emerald green)
- Group Two: Pastels (pastel blue like worn demin, pastel pink, pastel green, pastel yellow, peach)
- Group Three: Earth tones (pumpkin orange, eggplant purple, sage green, chocolate brown).
- Group Four: Cool vs Warm tones (cool colors are blue and green, warm tones are reds, yellows, oranges). Sometimes colors from each of these groups compliment each other: pumpkin orange with denim blue)
4. Inspiration...
