FORT MYERS MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHER | AWAITING BABY MARTIN

It's happening! Buddy and Annabelle are pregnant with baby number two! If you follow us at all, you likely have seen the Martin family in many of our posts; we are with them almost every weekend. These past few weeks have gone by so quickly and Annabelle is looking GORGEOUS! This time around it's a girl and she will be inheriting much of Lillian's wardrobe. Matt and I do not have baby fever and are moving forward with plans to keep our little family of three (plus Beacon). I only bring that up because it's a question I get asked at least twice a week and when your best friend and sister are pregnant, everyone expects you to be next. Back to Annabelle... we are very excited for December to arrive and to assist the Martin family in the first few weeks of newborn bliss. Watch for pics of baby Martin later this winter! For now, here are highlights from the Martin's maternity session at their house and Fort Myers Beach.

How to plan clothing for a photo session...

I am so excited about my recent order from Shellybee Originals. I discovered her profile on Instagram and instantly fell in love with her designs and decided a mommy and me skirt duo would be groovy for Lil and I wear. I ordered the skirts with the intention of using them for family photos scheduled later this month with our photography friend, Rob, of Old Sparky Productions.  Matt and I did marketing photos from him earlier this year and he offered to take our family photos in exchange. If you know me, you know that I love getting family photos almost as much as I love taking them.  We decided on Downtown Fort Myers for the location since Lillian is usually in good spirits walking through the streets like she does on nights for Art Walk and Music Walk. Lil is a big supporter of the River District!

INSPIRATION PIECE- check

Below are the Shellybee Instagram posts that inspired my purchase...

We have matching skirts, now what? I tell most of our clients to pick an inspiration piece and then choose items to compliment it.  Our shopping trip to Old Navy yielded a colorful Boston tee that I thought would be cute, especially since our dog, Beacon, would be joining us for the photos. Now to put together my outfit and something for Matt. I'm thinking black or pink converse for Lil. We'll see how this comes together. Stay tuned!

Blooming Family I Southwest Florida Family Photographer I Fort Myers, FL

Lisa or "Blooming Mommy" and I met while attending college years ago and ended up taking our child birth class together back in 2010 before her Bella and my Lil were born. Now three years later, Lisa and her husband Junior have a family of four with little brother Isaiah added to the mix! Over the last several years we've kept in touch and I was so excited when she asked me to take her family photos. We had to reschedule a few times because of the rain and our busy lives but we finally picked an early Sunday morning to meet up at Lakes Park before Junior headed to a Bucs game (a fav family past time).  Enjoy a sneak peek at a few of my fav images from the session! Did I mention that they are one the sweetest familes ever...

Welcome Brody I Southwest Florida Family Photographer I Fort Myers, FL

I have some pretty strong roots with the Black girls. Katie and I met in 8th grade after I moved to Fort Myers. I can recall our sleepovers and talking about boys and kissing; twenty years later, we are now talking about bottles and babies! Katie and Jake are beautiful together. I walked out of their bungalow after our session feeling giddy that my friend from so long ago has truely married the love of her life and now they have an amazing baby. Brody is so handsome and precious. I can't wait to share these images with the Bristow family and friends!!! Enjoy...

In love with this blanket that Jake's mom made!!

Addison is so proud of her little cousin...

This boy is sooooooo handsome!!

And no newborn session would be complete without a little posing inspiration from Pinterest... Sharing the PG version (LOL).

Happy Fall!

I enjoyed the sound of football while I was editing this weekend and indulged in my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season. Fall is upon us and you know what that means...  Lots of returning faces and new friends to photograph! We have four newborns, eight+ families, four 1 year birthdays, three mama’s expecting, and two weddings on the calendar for this Fall! It’s going to be busy and we love it! I don’t think we can squeeze any more in- wow!

We will be offering 30 min. sessions on October 6th and October 20th for those that would like portraits in time for the holidays. This is a shorter version of our regular sessions. These spots are reserved for our returning clients and are NOW open to new faces! Just a few spots open… Email hellomollyandmatt@gmail.com for more information.

Colorado Vacation I New Belgium Tour I September 2013

We toured the New Belgium Brewery with my cousins, sister, and her husband during our vacation to Colorado this past summer. It was probably the highlight of the trip for Matt being that he and many other of our Florida friends counted down the weeks till the New Belgium Brewing Company, makers of Fat Tire, began selling its beers in Florida in late July (Warren, Geoff, Buddy, Josh!!).  The tour was held in Fort Collins (close to my hometown of Greeley, Co) and ran roughly 90 min. I can't say I heard every little detail our guide shared with us (too busy keeping Lil entertained) but I will say I enjoyed tasting along the way. Here are some of the highlights from our visit including all the bikes the employees ride to and from work. What a cool place to be! Did I mention they even have a slide...

Happy Birthday Kaylee!

The best thing about photographing this little family is they are game to try just about any location or idea I propose.  I got lost one day on MLK and had to make a U-turn down a street and discovered a convenience store with a really cool Coco-Cola mural on the side. I kept that spot in the back of my mind hoping I would one day have the opportunity to shoot there.  I filled an empty Coke bottle with bubblegum and we ventured to the "sketchy" convenience store for some really fun images with Kaylee and her parents. It was so worth it! Kaylee, now two, is used to me following her around with my big camera. Her mom is Lil's teacher at school and this is our third photo sesh together!

Lundbohm Family I Southwest Florida Family Photographer I Fort Myers, FL

I had such a great time photographing the lovely Lundbohm family. Last time I worked with Sabrina, we were capturing Ellie's one year photos. At our session on Sunday, Weston had just celebrated his fourth birthday. Our little ones are growing up so fast! Sabrina has already started talking about another date this Fall to freeze time!

Taran I Southwest Florida Senior Photographer I Fort Myers, FL

Meet Taran, a Class of 2014 senior attending Fort Myers High School.  Matt and I toured downtown Fort Myers with her and were reminded of our "Greenie" roots! Taran had so many playful outfits for our locations ideas. We had such a fun evening photographing Taran and she even offered up her babysitting services for Lil at the end of our session! A special thank you to her mom, Dana, for selecting us to capture this milestone. Our blog post is packed with her GORGEOUS portraits so sit back and enjoy.

Hello Baby I Fort Myers Newborn Photographer I Fort Myers, FL

Meet baby Madison...

Amy and Scott welcomed this little bundle of joy into their world on August 3th, 2013. Baby M could be a model baby for her mom's shopping habit on Etsy! Amy selected many cute outfits for our portrait session including a mermaid tail and top, a butterfly ensemble as well as a peach ruffle romper for Madison. My favorite thing about lifestyle newborn photography is capturing the wonder and amazement of new parents. Memories of this time frame often become fuzzy for new parents and that is precisely why I feel these types of shoots are so important. Here are some of my favorite images from our time together...

McMullen FamilyI Southwest Florida Family Photographer I Sanibel, FL

Like alot of familes we photograph on Sanibel, Libby and her family have been vacationing on the beautiful island for years. She contacted us to capture a few memories on their trip this year and we went back and forth on clothing choices and sunset locations. They stayed at one of our favorite locations to shoot on Sanibel, Casa Ybel and we headed to Captiva for the sunset. Greyson, their 2 year old son, was so expressive and fun. Here's a sneak peek at some of our favorites...

Pennington Family I Southwest Florida Family Photographer I Sanibel, FL

I met up with the Pennington family on Sanibel to capture their son's first birthday milestone earlier this month. Brooke went to high school with us and was a referral from another high school friend that has been following our work from Atlanta (thank you, Eleanor) where the Pennington's reside. We love word of mouth advertising!

I am in love with so many photos from their session. I remember from high school having the same birthday as Brooke (March 31) AND we also have another thing in common! We both have Boston Terriers (or “BTs” as Brooke calls the breed)! Atticus made an appearance in many of the photos with Brooke, Jeff, and Baby John. We had gorgeous lighting, a beautiful setting, and colorful wardrobe choices! All of my favorite details for amazing pictures. And don’t forget the adorable John in a little boat as the sun was setting on Sanibel. LOVE IT!!!

Baby Harper I Southwest Florida Family Photographer I Naples, FL

I have to start by thanking April, Nick's mom, for being the BEST baby wrangler I have ever worked with. We had prior history working together when I photographed Nick's sister, Lindsey and her twins. I showed up at the beach at 7 A.M. and was greeted by April with toys in tow ready to make Harper smile and giggle. Harper was as CUTE as can be but proved to be a little bit of a challenge for the experienced baby wrangler (April) and myself. As the sun rose, her smile finally surfaced and we were able to capture this adorable family in true fashion (#chevron).  I was excited to work with Shea for a couple reasons... We have been Instagram friends for the past year and I have been in love with Harper's cheeks almost as much as my own's daughters! I also knew she had impecable style, hence the chevron skirt and Harper's adorable hair bows.  Here is a peek of a few of my favorite images from the session...
