I’ve been photographing this extended family for almost a decade, and by now we’ve all settled into our roles: the husbands show up because they have to, the older kids walk in with expert-level eye rolls, and everyone silently prays I’m working fast.

And honestly? I kind of love it. Even when half the group isn’t exactly excited for photos, they still let me wrangle them, tease out real smiles, and somehow we always end up with images that feel authentic to who they are.

This year’s session at the Verandah in Fort Myers was no exception. Between the quick smirks, the “are we done yet?” expressions, and the bursts of laughter that slip out when no one’s trying too hard, we captured the good stuff.
